First Week as an Intern

My first week of duty as an intern at Globe Telecom – Puntod is done . It was such a productive and fruitful week for me. Everything I did in the office is very different from my usual routine at school. Well, definitely because office instructions are unlikely the same from classroom instructions. But honesty, I never get hard time adopting with all these things.

During my first day, I sat in the lobby for quite some time to wait for my boss. Ma’am Mikki, my supervisor did not make it to come in the morning so she instructed her previous intern, Riza who was hired right after her internship, to take care of me while she was still out. Riza gave me a quick tour to the office and introduced me to some important documents that I will be frequently using from that day on until I finish my whole internship period.

In my first day, I also met Sir Chris the loud and jolly boss of Riza. He was really noisy and tactless, but I liked it. He made me laugh every time he stroke his punch lines. His noisiness was just a perfect humor for me.

Before he went out of the office, he invited us to attend the opening of his business at Kauswagan, The Site. The Site was actually located at Limketkai before but the owners decided to transfer it to different location. Right after the office hours Riza, Joy and I rode a cab going to The Site. The opening was really a blast with all the sumptuous and delectable foods prepared in two long tables. When we went home, I realized that I really had a great first day welcome at Globe Telecom. Surely I will enjoy the rest of my stay in this office.

After the following days, my boss gave me my daily task and that is to do the Sales Summary Report using the tracker that she would send me through email. She also taught me how to do the Pipeline Report and the Net Sales Summary also with the help of Riza. The tasks she gave me were simple and I want to make it perfect every time I do it.

At the end of the week, I could say I have I acquired lots of business points from my bosses. I learned a lot about the plans offered by Small – Medium Enterprise (SME). My first week duty as an intern was really fruitful and full of learning especially in business. I also had few realizations during those days but I guess it would be better if I would keep it within me for now. I am looking forward for a lot more fun, knowledge and skills to learn in the following weeks of my stay at Globe Telecom as an intern. Stay tuned.
